Monterey Spartan Race : May 30-31, 2026
The event takes place at Toro Park near Salinas, CA on May 30-31, 2026. The course runs through wooded areas, rolling hills, and coastal terrain with ocean views and coastal California weather. The weekend also features Spartan Trail Races. Course maps are subject to change depending on conditions.
Race format and details
- Sprint - 5 km, 20 obstacles
- Super - 10 km, 25 obstacles
- Kids Race - 1–3 km, obstacles
Obstacles listed for the event include Atlas Carry, A-frame cargo, barbed wire crawl, fire jump, inverted wall, bucket carry, Hercules hoist, multi-rig, rope climb, sandbag carry, slip wall, spear throw, and various wall climbs, plus additional site-specific challenges. Finishers receive a Sprint finisher medal, a finisher tee, and there is a Trifecta medal available for completing specified race combinations. Festival entrance is part of the event atmosphere.
