Carmel-by-the-Sea 5K
The Carmel-by-the-Sea 5K is a professionally timed road race presented by Girls on the Run Central Coast. The course begins at San Carlos Street and 9th Avenue in downtown Carmel-by-the-Sea, passes by Carmel Mission, follows the oceanside cliffs of Scenic Drive, and finishes at the bottom of Ocean Avenue near the beach and the post race finish line festival.
The event is USATF certified and offers perpetual awards for first place male and female finishers as well as age group awards. Race proceeds benefit Girls on the Run Central Coast; 100 percent of race revenue supports that Monterey County organization.
Children under five may register free when accompanied by a paid adult participant; they should be added as additional participants so they can be accounted for on race day. Dogs are welcome on course and may be officially registered for a fee of $15 plus applicable charges; registered dogs receive a pet participation bandana and a canine finish line treat. Registered dogs are limited to one per participant.
The race is hosted by Girls on the Run Central Coast with permission from the City of Carmel-by-the-Sea and unincorporated Monterey County. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
