Montclair Run
The Montclair Run is an annual community running event organized by the YMCA of Montclair. The 43rd edition takes place on Sunday, June 7, 2026, and typically attracts runners, walkers, volunteers, and spectators from across Essex County and beyond. The first Montclair Run was held in 1983.
The event includes two main distances:
- 10K Grand Prix USATF sanctioned, chip timed, fast flat course through two parks
- 2 mile Fun Run/Walk chip timed and intended for family participation
Both races are chip timed. The 10K is USATF sanctioned and described as a fast and flat course that runs through two scenic parks. Popular performance shirts and finisher medals are provided while supplies last. Free race photography is offered. Same-day registration is available.
All events start and end at the YMCA of Montclair, 25 Park Street, Montclair, NJ. Packet pick-up is scheduled at the YMCA in the days before the race. Entry fees vary by event and by age category; race day fees are higher than pre-registration fees. A USATF New Jersey pre-registration discount applies for members.
Proceeds from the Montclair Run benefit the YMCA Community Health Program Fund. Volunteer opportunities are available for students, seniors, and other community members. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
