Montana Meltdown

Montana Meltdown is a fixed time running event held at Gallatin Valley Regional Park in Bozeman, Montana. The event offers multiple timed race options that challenge runners to cover as many miles as they can within a set time.

Race options include:

  • 4 hour timed event
  • 12 hour timed event
  • 24 hour timed event

The course is a flat 1.5 mile loop composed mainly of hard packed gravel with a short asphalt section. Each loop passes a fully stocked aid station. The route provides views of the Bridger Mountains and records about 7 feet of vertical gain per mile.

The aid station has picnic tables and a selection of snacks and drinks. Available items include water, electrolytes, soda, pretzels and chips, candy, sandwiches, soup, and oatmeal. There is space for runners to set up chairs, snacks, and coolers near the aid area.

Between loops, runners may leave the course to rest in their vehicles or use the pavilion at the aid station. The park does not allow tent setups. The event provides free race photos for all participants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
