Monster Mash Dash 5K - Pinehurst
The Monster Mash Dash 5K takes place on October 31, 2026 at 90 Woods Road, Pinehurst, NC 28374. The event is family friendly, costumes are encouraged, and all ages are welcome. Participants receive a custom race shirt and a post-race treat bag. A shirt guarantee applies to registrations completed by October 1, 2026. The 5K will be professionally timed by Gate City Timing.
Event offerings include the following distances:
- 5K Run, timed 5K, $25 registration fee
- Fun Run, 805 m free half mile walk, not timed
The 5K awards medals to Overall Female and Overall Male finishers and to the top three in each age group. Age group categories for female and male are: 10 and under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, and 80+. Prizes are offered for the top three costumes. The Fun Run is a free event to show support for Special Olympics Moore County; it is not timed and participants are asked to complete the loop in 20 minutes or less.
Registration opens July 31, 2026. Registration for the 5K closes October 1, 2026; Fun Run registration closes October 27, 2026. The Fun Run has no registration fee. Proceeds will help fund training facilities, uniforms, awards, equipment, transportation, and coaches education for Special Olympics Moore County. Athletes in North Carolina are not charged any fee to participate in Special Olympics. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
