Monster Mash Bash - Run For a Cure
The Monster Mash Bash Run For a Cure is a 30-hour endurance challenge held in Burnet, Texas. The event is built around a single, repeating task: complete one mile every hour for up to 30 hours, on a closed one-mile out-and-back course that uses both trail and road surfaces and includes a roughly 1/2 mile turnaround.
Runners may begin at any scheduled hourly start, but once a runner starts they must start and finish one full mile during each consecutive hour. Missing an official start, failing to complete the full mile before the next start, or attempting to skip hours ends a runner's event. Official completion requires 30 consecutive hourly miles; miles completed after a late entry count only for the official rounds that actually occur for that runner.
The event continues through daylight and nighttime. Runners must carry adequate lighting and backup power for night rounds. Water, ice, and portable restrooms are provided. Runners are expected to bring food, hydration, medications, clothing, footwear, lighting, batteries, and other personal supplies. Trail Toes provides basic foot-care items as an amenity. Crew and spectators may assist runners between miles and set up a base camp within designated areas using tents or a 10' x 10' pop-up canopy, while keeping access clear.
Course rules require following the marked route to the turnaround and returning to the start area. Race officials and medical staff may remove participants for safety or rule violations. Proceeds support Jar Of Hope. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
