Monster Mash
The Monster Mash is an athletic event held at the Peg Bond Center on North Island Avenue in Batavia, Illinois. The event is organized by the Step By Step Running Club and features multiple distances for different age groups and participation preferences.
The available event distances include:
- 10 km Run
- 5 km Run or Walk
- Kids Dash
The Kids Race is specifically designed for participants between the ages of 2 and 6. Children in this category receive a cotton race shirt, a custom finisher medal, and sunglasses. Participant registration is open to the public, and the event also includes opportunities for fundraising and volunteering.
Awards are presented to the top overall male and female finishers in both the 5 km and 10 km races. Additionally, the event recognizes first, second, and third place finishers across various age group categories. The 5 km awards categories start from age 10 and under up to 80 and over, while the 10 km awards categories begin at age 14 and under.
Packet pickup is available on designated days prior to the race at a local athletic store in St. Charles, as well as on the morning of the event at the race site. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
