Monmouth County's Stars & Strides Flag Day 5K & 1-Mile Freedom Walk
Monmouth County’s Stars & Strides Flag Day event takes place in Holmdel, New Jersey on June 14, 2026. It offers two distances:
- 5K
- 1 mile
Open registration runs from January 1, 2026 through May 14, 2026. Standard registration is listed at $30 through May 14, 2026; a team option is listed at $250 for a team of 10 through the same date. On-site registration and pre-registration packet pick up are scheduled for June 13, 2026 at Bell Works, 101 Crawfords Corner Road, in front of the Holmdel Library.
The 5K includes awards for the top three male and top three female overall finishers and top three male and female finishers in each age group. Age groups are listed from 18 and under through 80 plus. Duplicate awards are not permitted. The 1 Mile Freedom Walk is designated as a non-timed event.
The event accepts donations and team entries. Proceeds benefit the Friends of the Monmouth County Park System, a charitable organization that supports park system enhancements, historical and natural resource preservation, recreational programs for urban youth, and activities for individuals with disabilities. The event is organized by the Monmouth County Board of County Commissioners and the MonmouthNJ 250 Committee as part of Monmouth County’s official 250th anniversary observances.
