The Monmouth County's Stars & Strides Flag Day 5K & 1-Mile Freedom Walk is scheduled for Sunday, June 14, 2026, in Holmdel, New Jersey. The event takes place at 101 Crawfords Corner Road.
Distances
The event consists of two distances:
- Flag Day 5K: A timed running event.
- 1-Mile Freedom Walk: This is a non-competitive, untimed walking event.
Event Features
The event is framed as a celebration of the 250th anniversary of the United States. Participants are encouraged to wear red, white, and blue attire. The 5K course is USATF certified (certification code NJ25012JLW). A course map is available.
Awards are presented for the 5K. The top three male and female overall finishers will receive awards, as will the top three male and female participants in each age group. Age groups range from 18 & under to 80+. No duplicate awards are given.
Registration and packet pickup are available on-site on Friday, June 12, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Bell Works, located at the event address in front of the Holmdel Library. The standard registration fee is $30 per person, and a team registration option for 10 people is available for $250. These prices are valid through May 14, 2026. A race t-shirt is guaranteed for registrations completed by that date.
Beneficiary
Proceeds from the event benefit the Friends of the Monmouth County Park System. This charity supports park system enhancements, including preserving natural and historical resources and providing recreational opportunities for urban youth and individuals with disabilities.
