Monarch Migration Run : event overview
The Monarch Migration Run is an inaugural running event on September 27, 2026, at Ruby Grant Park in Norman, Oklahoma (4343 36th Ave NW). The event is part of the annual Monarchs in the Park celebration and recognizes Ruby Grant Park as a stopover habitat for monarch butterflies during their fall migration.
The event program includes the following race options:
- 5K
- 1 mile Caterpillar Crawl
Race participants receive a custom monarch themed medal, a custom monarch themed bib with a timing tag for 5K participants, and a color-changing monarch tote bag included with registration. The event includes entrance to the Monarchs in the Park festival. Raising Cains Norman will be on site distributing tea and lemonade.
Registration opens July 1, 2026, and closes September 27, 2026. Published registration fees are $35.00 for the 5K and $25.00 for the 1 mile fun run. The Monarch Migration Run is listed on the Norman Race Series calendar but will not count toward the series overall awards presented at the Christmas 5K.
