Monarch Fund 5K Run/Walk : Harriet Island Pavilion, Saint Paul
This running and walking event takes place at the Harriet Island Pavilion along the Mississippi River with views of the downtown Saint Paul skyline. The primary distance is a certified 5K course (Certification Code MN18048RR) and the event is chip timed. A free Kids Run for ages 12 and under is offered near the pavilion; kids must be signed up in advance and receive a medal.
Course support includes one water station located near the turnaround around mile 2. Dogs and pets are not permitted on the 5K course except for service animals. Packet pickup and race day registration are available at the pavilion location. Parking lots are located on Harriet Island; note that roads close near the pavilion prior to the race.
Awards include prize money for the top three overall male and female finishers with amounts of $200, $150, and $100. There are 5 year age division awards, three deep, spanning standard age groups from 19 and under through 80 plus. New for 2026 first place masters (age 40-49), grandmasters (age 50-59), and super grandmasters (age 60 plus) male and female will receive awards. A special award recognizes the best age graded performance. All race proceeds benefit the Monarch Fund for cancer recovery research at Hamline University.
