Model Family Trail Run
The Model Family Trail Run is a community running event held at Model High School in Rome, Georgia, on October 3, 2026. The event features a primary trail 5K and a separate 1K kids fun run. Proceeds benefit the Model-Johnson Foundation, which awards scholarships to students and teachers.
The 5K course starts and finishes adjacent to Woodard Tuggle Stadium on the Model High School campus at 3252 Calhoun Rd NE. The route follows Barron Road toward the middle school, enters a wooded half-mile loop behind the football field, continues on a one mile back-of-campus trail, then routes around the baseball stadium and finishes with a paved loop in front of the elementary and high schools. The course surface is roughly half wooded trail and half paved road. Trails are marked and volunteers are stationed along the route.
Registration opens June 1 and closes September 27. Pre-race registration fee is $30 and race day registration is $40. All registered participants receive a commemorative short sleeve race T-shirt. Medals are awarded to top overall finishers and to top finishers in age group categories, including masters prizes and top placements by age. There is plentiful parking in adjacent lots near the stadium. The race will be timed by a professional timing company and results will be posted after the event.
