The event is a community fun run and festival held at Bethune Park / Phyllis Wheatley in Minneapolis, organized by the Minnesota Brewery Running Series in partnership with local organizations. It takes place alongside an Arbor Day festival with music, art, food trucks, beer, and educational booths.
Registration is free with a suggested donation. Proceeds support Brewing a Better Forest and Minneapolis Parks programs. The event offers activities for children and adults and includes access to all Arbor Day festivities.
The Sapling Dash is a youth fun run for ages 4 to 12. Participants run the bases with Elmer the Elm Tree and receive Lift Bridge Root Beer at the finish, plus festival access.
The 5K fun run or walk follows a loop around a nearby trail. Registered participants receive a token for one craft beer for those 21 and older or a nonalcoholic root beer, and access to festival activities.
A Family Fun Pass covers four participants, includes four drink tokens, two youth t-shirts or two Brewery Running Series swag items, and festival access. The run is untimed and held on an open course; roads will not be closed and runners must obey traffic laws. The course will be marked with arrows.
