About the race
The MJC Turkey Trot 5k Run and Gobbler Walk is scheduled for 11/26/2026 at a park on Tioga Drive in Modesto, California near Leigion Park. The event includes running and walking options and a separate kids race.
Distances:
- 5k Run/Walk
- 800 m Kids 1/2 Mile Run/Walk
- 3.6 miles Combined kids entry including the 1/2 mile and the 5k
The 3.1 mile course is primarily on a paved path with some grass and dirt. The kids 1/2 mile takes place on grass, roughly a quarter mile out and a quarter mile back. Strollers, headphones, and dogs are not allowed in the 5k run. The Gobbler Walk uses the same 5k course and allows strollers and dogs; no official results are produced for the Gobbler Walk, but a timer will be displayed at its finish line.
Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in the 5k, with overall male and female medals and age-group awards for the top three in each listed age bracket. All kids in the kids run receive a medal. Post-race refreshments will be available and T-shirts are guaranteed to the first 500 entrants. All proceeds benefit Modesto Junior College track and cross country programs.
Walk-in registration begins 11/25 and packet pickup is available the day before at Fleet Feet Modesto and on race morning. Entry fees vary by event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
