Event Overview
The Mizuno Midsummer 5k 2026 is a hybrid event, offered both in-person and virtually. The in-person event will take place on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at Gold Bar Park in Edmonton, Alberta. The virtual option can be completed anywhere from Thursday, July 9 to Sunday, July 12, 2026. This marks the 16th annual edition of the race.
Distances
- 5 km: Run or walk, available in-person or virtually.
- 1 km: Kids fun run, in-person only in Edmonton.
Registration Inclusions
Registration for the 5 km race includes a pair of Mizuno Wave Rider 29 running shoes (available sizes for women and men) and a pair of Goodr sunglasses. The estimated retail value of this package is over $200. Participants in the kids' 1 km event will receive a finisher's medal.
Prizes
Prizes from Mizuno are awarded to the top three finishers in each age group (U20, 20-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+). Participants from anywhere in Canada are eligible for these age group prizes but must submit a GPS tracking link. Cash prizes ($200, $100, $50) are also offered for the top three overall male and female finishers from the in-person event.
Additional Information
Proceeds from this event go to support the Concordia Thunder cross country and indoor track teams. The course at Gold Bar Park will be chalked out on the morning of the race. Virtual participants are required to submit their results via an online form. Results will be compiled and posted on the Sunday evening following the event.
