Mizuno Midsummer 5k 2026 Presented by Smith Thompson Law LLP
The Mizuno Midsummer 5k 2026 is the 16th edition and is organized as a hybrid event with virtual and in person options. The in person race takes place at Gold Bar Park, 10955 50 St NW, Edmonton, Alberta, on July 11, 2026. The virtual window runs from July 9 to July 12, 2026 and can be completed anywhere in Canada.

- 1 km kids fun run
Each 5 km entry includes a pair of Mizuno Wave Rider 29 running shoes (women sizes 6 to 11 standard B width; men sizes 8 to 12 and 13 standard D width) and a pair of GoodR sunglasses in a choice of 11 colours, with a retail value over CA$200. Kids registered for the in person 1 km receive a finisher medal. If participants are outside Edmonton, race packages are sent to the nearest Running Room store.
Mizuno prizes are awarded to the top three finishers in each age group: U20, 20-39, 40-49, 50-59 and 60+. Participants from anywhere in Canada are eligible for age group prizes if they submit a GPS tracking link (Strava, Garmin, MapMyRun, etc.). Cash prizes of CA$200, CA$100 and CA$50 apply to the fastest three open runners and the fastest three women in the in person event.
The Gold Bar Park course will be marked and signed on the event day. Results are submitted via a Google form sent to participants and published in a shared spreadsheet the evening after the event.
