Missoula Marathon
The Missoula Marathon is a weekend of running events organized by Run Wild Missoula and presented by Young Automotive Group. The series was created by local members to share the area’s scenery and Missoula’s community character with visiting runners. The 2027 weekend runs June 25 to 27, 2027 and registration opens September 15, 2026.
The full marathon course is described as flat and fast, USATF certified, and is a Boston qualifier. The half marathon course is also USATF certified. Additional events during the weekend include a 5K with chip timing and a casual Friday Beer Run of about three miles. The Missoula Kids Marathon is a non competitive, non timed event combining a logging marathon and a one mile fun run for children age 13 and under. The event program also features expo packet pickup, a Big 3 challenge, and other race weekend activities.
The event has received recognition from national running media in multiple years. Run Wild Missoula is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and includes an acknowledgement of the Salish and Kalispel homelands in its materials.
