Milwaukee Lakefront Marathon
The Milwaukee Lakefront Marathon weekend takes place October 3-4, 2026 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The event includes multiple race distances along the lakefront and around downtown Milwaukee.
Races run along the shoreline and through lakefront parks, with more than 40% of the course adjacent to Lake Michigan. The route includes a crossing of the Hoan Bridge that provides extended waterfront and downtown views. The half marathon and full marathon share the first ten miles of course.
The event offers an indoor pre-race waiting area located just yards from the start line. Reported time limits are 6.5 hours for the full and half marathons and 90 minutes for the 5K run/walk.
The Own The Hoan Challenge spans Saturday and Sunday and requires participation in the 5K run/walk plus either the half marathon or full marathon on Sunday. Challenge finishers receive a bonus third medal and additional event swag.
The weekend also features a charity component, the Kindness Challenge, which supports the This Time Tomorrow Foundation. That foundation provides nomination-driven Random Acts of Kindness grants to people fighting cancer. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
