Milwaukee Lakefront Marathon
The Milwaukee Lakefront Marathon is an established distance running event held in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Organized by the Badgerland Striders, the event takes place along the shores of Lake Michigan and features a variety of distances held over two days.
Participants can choose from the following event categories:
- Full Marathon
- Half Marathon
- 5k Run/Walk
- Own The Hoan Challenge
The marathon and half marathon courses are designed to showcase the urban and natural scenery of the Midwest, with over 40% of the route running directly alongside Lake Michigan. A notable feature of the course is the crossing of the Hoan Bridge, providing runners with views of the Milwaukee skyline and downtown area. The half marathon and full marathon routes share the first 10 miles.
For the convenience of participants, an indoor waiting area is available near the start line. The event also includes the "Own The Hoan" challenge, which requires completing the 5k Run/Walk on Saturday followed by either the Full Marathon or Half Marathon on Sunday. Those who finish the challenge receive a third medal and additional items. Participants also have the option to support the This Time Tomorrow Foundation, which provides financial grants to individuals fighting cancer.
The Full Marathon and Half Marathon have a combined time limit of 6.5 hours, while the 5k Run/Walk has a 90-minute time limit. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
