Milwaukee Lakefront Marathon

The Milwaukee Lakefront Marathon weekend is an early October road racing event held along the Lake Michigan shoreline. The weekend program includes a full marathon, a half marathon, and a 5K run and walk, plus an optional combined challenge that pairs the 5K with one Sunday event.

The course includes a crossing of the Hoan Bridge and more than 40% of the route runs alongside Lake Michigan, with views of the downtown skyline and lakefront parks. The half marathon and full marathon share the first 10 miles of course routing. An indoor pre-race waiting area is located just yards from the start line.

Time limits are published for each race: the full and half marathons have a 6.5 hour time limit, and the 5K has a 90 minute time limit. There will be a water station at the top of the Hoan Bridge.

Packet pickup for the 5K and Walk The Hoan is offered at local locations before race day and is also available the morning of the event at Urban Park. Walk The Hoan participants receive a commemorative short sleeve event shirt. Strollers, wheelchairs, and leashed dogs are permitted for Walk The Hoan. The event weekend also supports a Kindness Challenge benefiting the This Time Tomorrow Foundation, which provides nomination driven surprise grants to people fighting cancer.
