About the race

The Millstadt Parks Biathlon & 5K is a community running and cycling event held in Millstadt, Illinois. The event in 2026 is the 38th annual biathlon and the 5th annual 5K. The route passes through scenic farmland and rolling hills around Millstadt.

Distances offered:

  • Biathlon: 5 mile run followed by a 22 mile ride
  • 5K run

Online registration is listed as closed with race day registration available onsite. Early packet pickup is offered at Millstadt Village Hall on the two days before the event, and additional packet pickup and race day registration are available the morning of the event. The course closes at 11:00 am and a trail vehicle will pick up anyone remaining on course after that time.

Awards are given by age group and overall. Biathlon awards include five male and five female age groups plus overall male and female and team awards for male, female, and mixed teams; age groups start at 16-29 and extend to 70 and up. The 5K awards include eight male and eight female age groups and overall top male and female finishers; age groups start at 14 and under and extend to 70 and above.

Post-race beer and food are provided at the finish area, free yoga is offered in the park, and attendance prizes include gift certificates to Big Shark Bicycle Company. Proceeds support the Millstadt Park Fund. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
