Millis Boosters Back to School Run
The Millis Boosters Back to School Run is an annual community event held in Millis, Massachusetts. Now in its eighth year, the event serves as a fundraiser for the Millis Middle and High School athletic departments, supporting student-athletes, teams, and various sports projects. Participants can choose between two primary events:
- 5K Run or Walk
- 1 Mile Fun Run
The 5K course features rolling hills through the town of Millis. This event is chip-timed by Second Wind Timing, providing runners with immediate access to their printed results. Prizes are awarded to the top overall winners, and medals are presented to victors in various age groups.
The 1 Mile Fun Run takes place on the school grounds at 245 Plain Street. This distance is open to children, adults, families, and teams. While it is not chip-timed, a large timing clock is positioned at the finish line for participants to view their times. Medals are specifically awarded to the top three male and female finishers aged 12 and under in this category.
The event atmosphere includes music and a celebration of fitness. It is accessible to a wide range of participants, as runners, walkers, and those with strollers are permitted to take part.
