Millerton Madness Triathlon
Millerton Madness Triathlon takes place August 22, 2027, at Meadow Campground (Madera Side), Millerton Lake in Friant, California. The event program includes a USAT sanctioned Super Sprint Triathlon, an in-person 5k run, a relay option, virtual event options, and sponsor packages.
Super Sprint distances:
- 400 yd swim: start at Millerton Lake Boat Launch, swim around buoys, return to boat ramp.
- 5.4 mile bike: out-and-back north to the Millerton Lake SRA sign, rolling hills.
- 2.2 mile run: asphalt road out-and-back to the crosswalk turnaround.
Swim details note the water start at Millerton using the Millerton Lake Boat Launch, with a 400 yard course marked by buoys and exit to the boat ramp toward Transition. The bike leg leaves from Transition and follows an out-and-back route north toward the park entrance, with rolling hills and a turnaround at the top Millerton Lake SRA sign. The run for the Super Sprint follows asphalt road north from Transition to a turnaround near the park entrance crosswalk and returns to the finish.
The separate 5k run is a 3.1 mile asphalt out-and-back that starts at the Transition Area and heads north about 1.5 miles to the park entrance turnaround. The Relay option allows teams of two or three athletes to share stages. Virtual options include a Tri Anywhere format with listed distances and a Run Anywhere option; organizers can mail shirts and medals to virtual participants.
