Course, rules and logistics
The Super Sprint Triathlon course is described as follows:
- 400 yd swim
- 5.4 mile bike
- 2.2 mile run
The swim starts in the water at Millerton using the Millerton Lake boat launch. Athletes swim 400 yards around buoys, return to the boat ramp, exit to the Transition Area. The bike departs the Transition Area and follows an out-and-back route north to the turnaround at the top Millerton Lake SRA sign, with rolling hills. The run is on asphalt roads, roughly 1.1 miles north from the Transition Area to a turnaround and back.
Water temperature will be measured before the race. A posted value is 83 degrees, and the organizer states wetsuits are not required. If water temperature is over 78.1 degrees on race morning, wetsuits are allowed but will disqualify a participant from awards or USAT ranking points. Packet pickup is available the Friday before the race at The Bike Shop in Fresno and on race day at the Millerton Lake boat ramp - Meadow Campground.
