Millerton Madness Triathlon

Millerton Madness Triathlon takes place at Meadow Campground (Madera Side), Millerton Lake, Friant, CA on August 23, 2026. The event program includes in-person and virtual options across multiple formats: a USAT sanctioned Super Sprint triathlon, a 5k road run, a team relay, and virtual "anywhere" events. There are also several sponsorship levels offered.

The Super Sprint Triathlon is USAT sanctioned and is organized as a swim-bike-run course. The swim begins in the water at Millerton using the Millerton Lake Boat Launch; athletes swim around buoys, return to the boat ramp, exit the water, and proceed to the transition area. The bike leg is an out-and-back course heading north toward the Millerton park entrance with rolling hills and a turnaround near the Millerton Lake SRA sign, then returns to transition. The run is on asphalt road, out-and-back from the transition area to a turnaround near the park entrance crosswalk and back to the finish.

Event distances and options include:

• Super Sprint Triathlon: 400 yd swim, 5.4 mile bike, 2.2 mile run
• 5k Run: 3.1 miles
• Relay Madness: team triathlon with teams of 2 or 3 athletes
• Tri Anywhere (virtual): 400 yd swim, 7.75 mile bike, 3.1 mile run
• Run Anywhere (virtual): 3.1 miles

Virtual participants can submit results and request that a shirt and medal be mailed. Sponsorship tiers listed include Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum with associated fees. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
