Millerton Madness Triathlon
The Millerton Madness Triathlon takes place on Sunday August 23, 2026 at Meadow Campground (Madera Side), Millerton Lake, Friant, CA. The event includes a USAT sanctioned Super Sprint triathlon, a separate 5k run, relay teams, virtual options, and sponsorship tiers.

Swim competitors start in the water at the Millerton Lake Boat Launch, swim a 400 yard loop around buoys, return to the boat ramp and proceed to the transition area. The bike leg is an out-and-back route heading north toward the Millerton park entrance to a turnaround at the top Millerton Lake SRA sign, with rolling hills. The run follows asphalt roads north from the transition area for about 1.1 miles to a turnaround at the crosswalk and back to the finish.
Relay Madness allows teams of two or three athletes to split the triathlon stages. The 5k run is a separate 3.1 mile event and includes event swag and a post race meal. Organizers will measure water temperature before the race and follow USAT guidelines; if water temperature exceeds 78.1°F wetsuits may be allowed but will make participants ineligible for awards and USAT ranking points.
Amenities include a post race meal, medal, t-shirt, silicone swim cap, and age group awards. Packet pickup is offered the Friday before the race at The Bike Shop at Woodward Park and on race day at the Millerton Lake boat ramp. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
