Miles for the Mind
Miles for the Mind is a community event in Milwaukee at 1010 N. Lincoln Memorial Drive that focuses on movement, connection, mental health awareness, and local resources. The event offers in-person and virtual participation and includes options for running, walking, and rucking.
Participants can choose a timed 5K or an untimed 1 mile walk. The program includes a dedicated kids race with a finisher medal for children; shirts and 5K medals are not included with the free kids race. The event notes that presence and participation help remind people they are not alone.
A Mental Health Resource Village will feature local nonprofits, providers, community partners, and organizations offering information and support. Proceeds will benefit Silver Circle Foundation, Inc. mental health initiatives and local nonprofit partners working on mental health, suicide prevention, veterans, first responders, youth, and families.
The event description lists options for in-person 5K run, ruck, and walk formats, a one-mile memory walk, a kids 1K, and a virtual run, walk, or ruck option. If someone needs immediate emotional support, the event references the 988 Lifeline for free, confidential support available 24/7. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
