Miles for Smiles - Event overview
Miles for Smiles is organized by the Student Medical Society of Saskatchewan. The 2026 event takes place on September 19 at Meewasin North Park in Saskatoon with a virtual participation option. All funds raised go to the Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan.
In-person distances and a virtual option are offered:
- 2.5 km walk/run
- 5 km walk/run
- 10 km run
Registration includes a race number, a shirt, and a race package. Shirts are guaranteed for registrations completed by August 15, 2026; registration closes on September 8, 2026. Separate entry fees apply for each distance and for virtual participation.
Volunteers will be positioned at various locations along the course to provide assistance. Photographers may be stationed at the finish line and at points along the route. Participants running with dogs must keep them leashed and remain responsible for their pet. Strollers and pushed wheelchairs should line up at the back of the pack. Runners passing slower participants are asked to call out that they are passing.
Parking is available adjacent to Meewasin North; car pooling is encouraged because spots are limited. The event provides safety guidance for participants under 18 and asks all participants to follow directions from volunteers, race officials, and public authorities.
