Event overview
Miles for Music is scheduled for Saturday, May 16, 2026 in Beaufort, North Carolina at 500 Front Street. The event is presented as the 7th Annual East Carteret High School Band Miles for Music and includes two distances:
- 5K
- 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk
Proceeds from sponsorships and participant registration will benefit the East Carteret High School Marching Mariners. Funds will support instrument purchases and upgrades, band equipment, financial assistance for band students, and other band program needs. The event is timed by Run The East, LLC.
Course, registration and awards
The course is an out-and-back route along Front Street in historic downtown Beaufort. The organizer describes the course as flat and wheelchair accessible. Strollers and leashed dogs are permitted in both events.
Entry fees listed are $30 for the 5K and $20 for the 1 mile. Prices increase after April 29, 2026. Participants who register by May 1, 2026 are guaranteed a race t-shirt and swag bag; registrations after that date may receive items based on availability.
Packet pick up is available on the morning of the race at John Newton Park, 500 Front Street. Early packet pick up is available Friday, May 15 at The Periwinkle, 110 Middle Lane.
Awards for the 5K are offered by sex and age group: 18+, 13-17, and 12 and under, with placements awarded in each group. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
