Miles for Music - Beaufort, NC
Miles for Music is the 7th annual East Carteret High School Band event on May 16, 2026, held at 500 Front Street, Beaufort, NC. The event includes a community 5K and a 1 mile fun run/walk along the downtown waterfront.

The course is an out-and-back route along Front Street with waterfront views. The route is described as easy and flat and is wheelchair accessible. Strollers and leashed dogs are allowed in both distances. Awards are given for the 5K across multiple age and gender categories, including adult, teen, and youth divisions.
Proceeds from sponsorships and participant registration support the East Carteret High School Marching Mariners. Funds will help purchase and upgrade instruments, acquire band equipment, provide financial assistance to band students, and address other program needs.
Packet pick up is available on race morning at John Newton Park, 500 Front Street, and there is an early packet pick up on Friday, May 15 at Periwinkle, 110 Middle Lane from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Participants registered by May 1 are guaranteed a race t-shirt and swag bag; items after that date are subject to availability. Entry fees listed at the time include a 5K and a 1 mile option.
