Miles for Minds 5K - Edison
Miles for Minds 5K is a community running event held at Roosevelt Park in Edison, New Jersey on July 26, 2026. The event includes a USATF certified, timed 5K race and a separate 1 Mile Walk and Roll Fun Run around the park lake. The Walk and Roll is untimed and participants in that event are not eligible for race awards.
Registration details note a pre-registration fee of $30 for the 5K, with a higher fee applying after July 20. The 5K entry includes an official runner bib and refreshments; t-shirts are provided to individuals who raise at least $50. Walk and Roll registration includes a t-shirt and refreshments. On-site registration is available on race day.
The 5K course is a park loop on roads described as scenic, wooded, shaded and lakeside. The course is traffic controlled and marshaled, with emergency medical technicians on site. Race scoring and timing are provided by CompuScore.
Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers and to the top three male and female finishers in each age group: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 plus. Strollers, bicycles, pets, skates and roller blades are prohibited in the 5K.
Proceeds from the event support the JFK Johnson Rehabilitation Institute at JFK University Medical Center, with funds directed toward equipment, research, staff training and facility upgrades. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
