Miles for Migraine - DC/VA/MD 2026

The 10th annual Miles for Migraine event takes place at Laurel Hill Central Green Park in Lorton, Virginia. This community gathering serves as a fundraiser for migraine and headache awareness, treatment, and research, with proceeds benefiting local research and fellowship training programs at the MedStar Georgetown Headache Center. The event provides a space for participants to connect with the local migraine and headache community through athletic activities, guest speakers, and a festival area featuring various sponsors.

Participants can choose from several participation options:

  • 5K Run: A chip-timed competitive run.
  • 2 Mile Walk: An untimed walk where participants may turn around at any point.
  • Relax: A non-athletic option to attend the festival, listen to speakers, and use the dedicated relaxation tent.
  • Virtual Event: A remote participation option for those unable to attend in person.

The 5K run includes awards for the first-place finishers in the male, female, and non-binary categories. All finishers in the walk and run events receive a finisher medal. Additional prizes are awarded for various categories, including top individual fundraisers and spirit awards. The festival atmosphere encourages creative attire, and participants are invited to wear purple flair.

Packet pick-up is available locally on the day before the event and on the morning of the race at the event site. The venue includes a festival area with a hydration station and information booths from multiple sponsors. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
