Miles for Mental Health 5K and Family Hike
The Miles for Mental Health 5K and Family Hike is scheduled for June 14, 2026 in Wallingford, Connecticut. The event was organized to honor friends who have struggled with mental health, substance use and suicide. Proceeds from the event will go to Coalition for a Better Wallingford, a grassroots organization focused on early prevention and awareness.
The 5K is a rolling course that begins and ends at Marcus Cooke Park on Old Rock Hill Road. The route passes through residential neighborhoods, goes past train tracks and runs by open fields. The event description identifies the setting as a New England town and notes the course starts and finishes at the local park.
A family hike at Marcus Cooke Park is offered in addition to the 5K. The hike is free, with donations appreciated. Trails at the park are described as well marked, and a guided hike will be available for those who prefer a led route. Parking is available across the street at Rock Hill School and parking is not allowed at the First United Methodist Church. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
