Miles For Medicine 5K Run/Walk
Miles For Medicine is a fundraising event held October 24, 2026 in Lexington, Kentucky, on the Legacy Trail through Coldstream Park. Proceeds support the University of Kentucky College of Medicine Salvation Army Clinic; funds will go toward medications and supplies for the clinic.
The event program includes multiple participation options:
- 5K Run/Walk - chip timed on paved or concrete trail surfaces.
- 1 Mile Fun Walk - untimed.
- Kid's Dash - 250 yards for children 9 and under.
- Virtual Runner/Walker - complete the distance remotely; commemorative T-shirt mailed for the virtual option.
Participants in in-person events receive commemorative performance T-shirts in Men’s, Women’s, and Youth sizes. The Kid's Dash also includes a participation medal. Awards are presented for Top 3 male and female overall and Top 3 male and female in 5-year age groups for the 5K. The 5K course is entirely on paved or concrete trail surfaces. Event features listed for race day include music, race photography, food, and social team competition with a prize for the largest team.
Packet pickup is conducted on race morning at the Coldstream Dog Park area; pickup for friends or family is permitted. Volunteer opportunities are available; volunteers work a shift and receive a commemorative T-shirt. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
