Miles For Medicine 5K Run/Walk
The annual Miles For Medicine 5K Run/Walk takes place on October 24, 2026, at Coldstream Dog Park Area and the Legacy Trail in Lexington, KY. The event raises funds to support the University of Kentucky College of Medicine Salvation Army Clinic, which provides free medical services to residents of the Salvation Army women and children’s shelter.

The 5K follows the Legacy Trail through Coldstream Park. The event includes commemorative performance shirts in men's, women's, and youth sizes; awards for the top three male and female overall finishers and for the top three in five-year age groups; a DJ and free race photos; social team participation with a prize for the largest team; and chip timing for the 5K. Food and fellowship are provided on site.
The Salvation Army Clinic has served Lexington residents free of charge since 1986. Services include twice weekly adult clinics, monthly pediatric and ophthalmology clinics, oral cancer screenings, and weekly tobacco cessation groups. The clinic assists patients with insurance enrollment and connections to primary and dental care and other community resources. It is run by medical students with support from volunteer physicians, pharmacists, and pharmacy students. All funds raised will go toward medications and supplies.
Packet pickup is conducted race morning at Coldstream Dog Park at the RaceRise tent; there is no advance day packet pickup. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
