Miles and Mortarboards 5K
The Miles and Mortarboards 5K is an inaugural running event held in downtown Kingstree, South Carolina. The race starts and finishes at Unity Park on Main Street, situated adjacent to the local Train Depot. The course covers a distance of 3.1 miles (5 km).
Participants follow a route that passes through the historic downtown area and crosses Highway 52. The path leads into Black River Gilland Park before returning along the same course to the finish line. The event includes professional timing services for all registered runners.
The venue features a gathering of health and wellness vendors located within the park. Local businesses in the downtown district operate during and after the event, with various stores offering specific sales or hosting activities for visitors. Registration fees include a commemorative t-shirt. Children under the age of 12 may participate at no cost when accompanied by an adult.
This event serves as a fundraiser for the Williamsburg Technical College Foundation.
