Mike Sterling Race - Crisfield, Maryland
The Mike Sterling Race is the 47th annual running event held in Crisfield, Maryland during the National Hard Crab Derby. The event includes the following distances:
- 10 km Race
- 5 km Race
- 10 km Ruck with a 20 pound weight
The course begins and ends at the Crisfield City Dock at the end of Route 413 and follows a fast, flat route that runs through the city, adjacent neighborhoods, and along waterfront outskirts. Organizers provide water stops at three locations along the route. Packet pickup is scheduled the day before the event at Wellington Beach.
Registration pricing is tiered, with early registration guarantees that include a race shirt for those registered by August 1, 2026. Prices increase on specified dates and again on the race day. The event is held rain or shine and no refunds are offered; proceeds support the Crisfield Area Chamber of Commerce.
The 10 km ruck uses the same course as the 10 km race but is conducted separately. Since 2023 the former 5k walk was converted into a 5k race; participants may walk or run but there is no separate walking race category.
