St. Patty's 5k Run/Walk or Ruck and Fitness Mile
This event in Uniontown, Pennsylvania includes a range of race options held at Uniontown High School Track and nearby streets. The program offers a 5K Run, 5K Walk, 5K Ruck, Fitness Mile, and a combined challenge called The Fittest that pairs the 5K and the Fitness Mile.
The 5K is described as a fast and flat course through Uniontown and South Union Township. The Fitness Mile consists of four quarter mile legs paired with exercises including burpees, air squats, overhead press, sit ups, lunges and pushups. The ruck division requires a rucksack, backpack or weighted vest of 45 lbs for men and 35 lbs for women, with verification before and after the race.
Awards are planned for top finishers in multiple divisions: overall and age groups for the 5K, top walkers, top competitors in the Fitness Mile, and top competitors in the ruck division. Dual event awards will recognize the fittest male and female in Fayette County. Proceeds benefit Amy's Army for PanCAN, the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, in memory of a local CrossFit co founder and teacher who died from pancreatic cancer in 2021.
Additional details include guaranteed event shirts for those registered by March 5, an afterparty and awards at Mom Maruca’s with green beer for ages 21 and over, early packet pickup the Friday before the race, on site parking at the high school, and a hotel rate at the Hilton Garden Inn Uniontown.
