Event Overview
The Mike Lovelace Memorial Mile, also known as the Duck Island Spring Mile, is a road race held at Warriors Path State Park in Kingsport, Tennessee. The event takes place on a course located at 490 Hemlock Rd within the park boundaries. This competition is a low-key event that does not provide participants with shirts or physical awards upon completion.
The race is recognized for official record-keeping purposes as it qualifies for Tennessee State Records. It serves as a component of several regional series including the State of Franklin Track Club (SFTC) King and Queen (K&Q) series, the Adult Mile series, and the KFOM.
Race Categories
Participants can choose from several categories based on age and activity type. All events cover the same distance:
- 1 Mile Competitive Walk
- 1 Mile Girls race (ages 14 and under)
- 1 Mile Boys race (ages 14 and under)
- 1 Mile Adult race (men and women)
The event is organized with open registration available to both SFTC members and non-members. While a registration fee applies to non-members, members of the State of Franklin Track Club may participate at no cost.
