Mighty Hero Homes 5K and Fun Run
Mighty Hero Homes 5K and Fun Run takes place in McDonough, Georgia, within the Lake Dow and Lake Dow Estates communities. The event benefits Mighty Hero Homes, an organization focused on eliminating veteran homelessness, and all proceeds from the race go to that organization. Henry County is the scheduled location for the first Mighty Hero Community construction.
The event includes multiple race options and a virtual entry. Distances offered:
- 5K (3.1 miles) road race
- 50 m Fun Run for ages 6 and under
- Virtual 5K / Ghost runner option
The 5K and virtual entry have a registration fee of $55. The 50 m fun run is free. The course is USATF certified (GA25063WC) and the 5K is listed as a Northside Hospital Peachtree Road Race qualifier. The event is dog and stroller friendly and will use separate wave groups for those participants.
This is the second annual running of the event. Each race will be dedicated to a veteran; nominations may be submitted for living, retired, active, or deceased veterans. Awards follow the race, including overall male and female finishers, top three in each age group, and an award for the most decorated patriotic stroller.
