Mighty Hero Homes 5K and Fun Run : McDonough, GA
The event takes place on November 7, 2026 in McDonough, Georgia, passing through the Lake Dow and Lake Dow Estates communities in Henry County. It is organized to benefit Mighty Hero Homes, an organization focused on eliminating Veteran homelessness. All proceeds from the event will go directly to Mighty Hero Homes. Henry County is the scheduled location for the first Mighty Hero Community construction.
This is the second annual running of the event. Each race entry will be dedicated to a Veteran; nominations are accepted for living, retired, active, or deceased Veterans, submitted in a one-page nomination format. The event also promotes community health.
Distances included in the event:
- 5K Run/Walk - 3.1 miles
- 50 meter Fun Run for ages 6 and under
- 5K virtual option / Ghost runner
The road course is USATF certified (GA25063WC) and serves as a Northside Hospital Peachtree Road Race qualifier. Dogs and strollers are permitted and will run in separate wave groups. Awards follow the race and include overall male and female winners, the top three finishers in each age group, and a prize for the most decorated patriotic stroller.
