Trail Running in Jackson
The Huff N' Puff Trail Races take place in Jackson, Georgia, offering a variety of distances for runners looking to transition from roads to wooded environments. The event is held at Dauset Trails, and proceeds from the race benefit the nature center. The course features primarily single-track trails with rolling hills, roots, rocks, and technical sections. Distance Options
Participants can choose from three distinct distances:

The Marathon and Half Marathon follow the same loop, with Marathon participants completing the course twice. The Marathon has a strict time limit of 9 hours. Most participants take over 2 hours for the Half Marathon and over 4 hours for the Marathon due to the terrain.
Course Support and Requirements
This is a cupless event, and all runners in the Marathon and Half Marathon are required to carry their own handheld hydration bottle or a hydration pack. Aid stations are located along the course, with Half Marathon runners passing one station at mile 4 and mile 9.5. Marathon runners pass two aid stations at miles 4, 9.5, 13.1, 17, and 23. Marathon participants have crew access at the halfway point and are permitted to leave a drop bag.
Awards and Amenities
All finishers in every distance receive a medal. First-place overall male and female awards are presented for all distances, though no age group awards are provided. Participants who register by January 1st are guaranteed a t-shirt. Post-race activities include warm food and beverages for all runners.
