Midwest Everest - September 26-27, 2026
Midwest Everest is a multi distance trail running event held at Cannonsburg Ski Hill in Belmont, Michigan. The program runs across two days and uses ski runs and adjacent single track for its courses.
Distances offered:
- 100 Miler
- 50 Miler
- Sunset 10K
- Sunrise 20K
- Sunset 10K / Sunrise 20K combo
The 100 Miler and 50 Miler are built around repeated short "everesting" loops on the Cannonsburg Quad and Double ski runs, plus several approximately 2 mile trail loops through wooded single track that runners may use at their discretion. The full 100 mile course totals over 30,000 feet of ascent and an equivalent amount of descent, with 152 everesting loops and four of the short trail loops; a 36 hour cutoff applies. The 50 mile course totals over 15,000 feet of ascent and descent with 76 everesting loops and two short trail loops.
The Sunset 10K visits additional hills and trails on the property and reaches the top of the main hill. The Sunrise 20K comprises two laps of the 10K course on single track and ski hill terrain.
Night runners must bring their own headlamp and extra batteries; a headlamp is recommended for all distances except the Sunrise 20K. Pacers are not permitted. Aid stations provide cold and hot food and a chef may accommodate requests. Finishers receive event awards and race photos are available for download. Races are capped at 200 entrants per event.
