5k Fun Run at Midwest Coast Brewing
This event is an untimed fun run presented by the Illinois Brewery Running Series and hosted at Midwest Coast Brewing Company in Chicago (2137 West Walnut Street, Chicago, IL 60612). Participants may run, walk, or jog a 5k course that begins and ends at the brewery taproom.
The course is open to regular traffic and is clearly marked; roads are not closed for the event and participants should follow traffic laws. Routes are designed to start and end at the brewery. Entry includes one craft brew at the finish and a choice of series swag, such as a collector’s pint glass or a seasonal item.
Additional inclusions are entry into a prize drawing, post-run music, games, giveaways and partner items. Ten percent of proceeds support local nonprofits. The event offers refunds up to seven days before the event.
On event day participants must bring a valid ID; those under 21 receive a nonalcoholic beverage instead of the craft brew. There is no bag check. Dogs and strollers are allowed with care and subject to the brewery’s policies. The event will proceed rain or shine; if conditions make running unsafe, organizers plan to continue with the post-run gathering.
