Midsummer Night 5K Series
The Midsummer Night 5K Series is a three-race series held on the second Thursday evening of each summer month at South Ardmore Park in Wynnewood, Pennsylvania. Each race follows the "Ardmore Loop," a slightly rolling course consisting of three circuits that make up the 5K distance. Chip timing is provided by Bryn Mawr Racing Co.
Awards are given at each individual race for overall finishers and age group winners, with Brooks noted as a sponsor. Participants who complete all three races are scored across the series, accumulating points in overall male and female categories and in age group categories; series awards are provided by a sponsor.
A popular kids race precedes the 5K at the park. An after party is held at McSorley's Ardmore at 2330 Haverford Road in Ardmore, where presenting a race bib earns one complimentary beverage. Series T shirts are distributed at the July race or during packet pickup the night before.
A virtual 5K option is available. Virtual runners may use the Racejoy app for tracking, virtual pacing, and cheers, or follow an alternate submission process if they do not run with a phone.
Race proceeds benefit Children's and Shriner's Hospitals of Philadelphia, Lower Merion Parks and Recreation, and the Bryn Mawr Running Club. Packet pickup opens on site at 6 pm at each race. There are no refunds; race insurance can be purchased at registration. Events may be postponed for lightning. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
