Midsummer Night 5K Series
The Midsummer Night 5K Series consists of three separate running events held on the second Thursday of June, July, and August in Wynnewood, Pennsylvania. The races take place in the neighborhood surrounding South Ardmore Park. Participants follow a course known as the "Ardmore Loop," which consists of three circuits on a slightly rolling terrain. The event is chip timed using the MYLAPS Run BibTag System.
Available distances and categories include:
- 5 km running race
- 5 km virtual race
- Kids race
A virtual option is available for those who prefer to participate remotely. Runners can track their 5 km progress using the Racejoy App for virtual pacing and feedback or submit their results manually. For the physical events, the June and July races include a kids race held in South Ardmore Park before the main run. The August session features a kids race walk.
Participants can compete for awards in individual races or accumulate points across the entire three-race series for overall and age group scoring. An after-party is held following each race at McSorley's Ardmore, where runners can redeem their race bib for a beverage. Race proceeds are donated to the Children’s and Shriner's Hospitals of Philadelphia, Lower Merion Parks and Recreation, and the Bryn Mawr Running Club. Technical T-shirts are distributed during the July event or at the associated packet pickup. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
