Midnight Sun Marathon
Midnight Sun Marathon in Tromsø offers five measured street races held under the midnight sun. The event includes a full marathon, a half marathon and shorter city races, and it is a member of AIMS with certified courses.

The event attracts a large international field; 2026 statistics show about 9 000 participants from 97 nations. Race classes and age limits are defined by birth year. Minimum ages are set per race: children for the barneløp, from 0 years for 5 km, from 13 years for 10 km, from 15 years for half marathon, and from 18 years for the marathon.
Practical arrangements include an MSM Expo for number pickup and an MSM shop, bag storage at separate locations for the shorter races and the longer races, and marked kilometer signs on the marathon and half marathon courses. Red Cross medical posts are placed approximately every 5 km. Drink stations appear roughly every 5 km serving water, Maxim sports drink and banana. Finishers receive a medal and age class prizes are awarded for the top three in each class. Marathon prize money is listed for top finishers and a bonus is allocated for a course record. The organisers reported a 2026 course placement error that made some distances 143.6 metres short; recorded times for affected races are not official while placements remain valid. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
