Midnight Run 5K/10K for Special Olympics
The Midnight Run 5K/10K for Special Olympics takes place in Leawood, Kansas. This night race is presented by the Leawood Police Department, which participates in the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Kansas. The event serves as a fundraiser to support Special Olympics programs.
Participants follow a fast course through the city streets. The event offers two distinct distances:
- 5 km run and walk
- 10 km run only
The 10 km distance is restricted to runners due to specific road closure limitations. Participants in this category must be able to complete the course within a time limit of one hour and 15 minutes, as the roads reopen to vehicle traffic after this period.
All finishers in both the 5 km and 10 km events receive a custom medal. Registration for the event opens in early January and concludes in mid-March. The race starts and finishes near 11725 Roe Ave. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
