Middlesbrough Half Marathon Presented by Science in Sport
The Middlesbrough Half Marathon Presented by Science in Sport is a fully road-closed event in the town centre that supports the Great North Air Ambulance Service. The event is returning for its third year and is described as fast and flat with a smooth, PB-friendly profile.
The route starts in Centre Square outside the Town Hall and MIMA gallery, passes through Albert Park, goes past the Riverside Stadium and loops around the historic docks before returning to Centre Square for a city-centre finish in front of spectators. Each kilometre is marked with distance flags and marshals provide guidance and on-course support.
The programme includes two race distances:
- Half Marathon
- Junior Race
Entries include a unique themed medal, chip-timed results, free race photos and post-race goodies. The event village offers food and drink options and partner giveaways at the finish. Organisers note a focus on sustainability and offer an event t-shirt at a discounted price when purchased as part of entry, supplied through partner RT Kit.
The event is organised by RunThrough and positions itself as a measured road race with visible course support, timed results and an organised city-centre finish. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
