The Middlesbrough Half Marathon Presented by Science in Sport is scheduled for 7 March 2027. The event supports the Great North Air Ambulance Service, which is the event charity for 2027.
The race is run on closed roads through central Middlesbrough. The route starts and finishes at Centre Square, outside the Town Hall and MIMA gallery, and passes through Albert Park, along the Riverside Stadium and around the historic docks before returning to Centre Square. Organisers describe the course as smooth with a profile suitable for fast times.
Entries include a unique themed medal, chip timed results, free race photos and post race goodies. Each kilometre is marked with distance flags and marshals are positioned along the course. An event village provides food and drink options and partner giveaways at the finish. Sustainability is highlighted as a developing focus for the organisers.
