Middlesbrough Half Marathon
The Middlesbrough Half Marathon is a road race held on fully closed roads in the heart of the town. Now in its third year, the event supports the Great North Air Ambulance Service and features a course known for being flat and fast. The race begins in Centre Square, located outside the Town Hall and the MIMA gallery.
The route guides participants through Albert Park and passes notable landmarks such as the Riverside Stadium, home of Middlesbrough FC. Runners also complete a loop around the historic docks before heading back to the city centre for a finish at Centre Square. The course includes distance flags at every kilometre and is supported by marshals throughout.
Available race distances include:
- Half Marathon
- Junior Race
Participants receive chip-timed results, a unique themed medal, and free race photos. Post-race refreshments are provided in the event village, which also hosts various food and drink options. An optional event t-shirt can be purchased during the registration process. The venue includes an event village area for participants and spectators.
