Mickleden Straddle
The Mickleden Straddle is a challenging fell race returning after a five-year hiatus, set in the rugged terrain of South Yorkshire. Covering a distance of 14.3 miles with an ascent of 2,431 feet, this Category BL race requires participants to possess navigation skills and prior fell running experience due to its difficult high-level moorland course and potential severe weather conditions. The event is organized by Denby Dale AC and features essential facilities such as toilets and changing areas, but no water stations or distance markers.
A mandatory kit check will be conducted at registration, and all finishers will receive a bottle of Rescue Ale in support of the Woodhead Mountain Rescue Team. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
Always double-check with the organizer's website – things can change, and we might have sprinted past a few details!
