Michael Hanly 5K - Freshkills North Park
The Michael Hanly 5K is a memorial 5K run and walk scheduled for May 31, 2026, at Freshkills North Park in Staten Island, NY. The event revives a previously held memorial race that ran for about eight years and had since paused; it is now presented again by the DSNY Running Club, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit. Registration fees vary by date: a lower early price is offered before April 1, then a higher price until the day before the race, and a race-day rate applies. Race packet pick-up is available on the day of the race only. A volunteer option is listed and a volunteer meeting is scheduled in advance; volunteer roles include registration, bib pick-up, on-course directions, raffles, and water stations.
Parking will be available along nearby roads and in designated parking lots, with signage and volunteers to assist.
