Miami 50/50

Miami 50/50 is an open road urban ultramarathon held in Miami, Florida on June 12, 2027. The race covers a 50 mile course that runs through city pedestrian paths and sidewalks; runners will encounter vehicular traffic and must follow all pedestrian laws. The route passes through multiple neighborhoods, including Wynwood, Miami Beach, Key Biscayne, Calle Ocho, Coconut Grove, and Brickell.

This event is a two person team race. Both teammates run the full 50 miles together; there are no individual finishes. The format is self supported: no crew and no aid stations. The race uses manned checkpoints placed approximately every 10 to 15 miles. Drop bags are allowed at each checkpoint, but runners must be 100 percent self reliant between checkpoints.

Navigation is part of the event. Runners receive directional cards with step by step directions and must follow those directions to reach the next checkpoint. The full course map is not available in advance. The first portion of the course map is provided the morning of the race and the remainder is issued at manned checkpoints as teams progress.

There are three competition divisions: Male Team, Female Team, and Co-Ed Team. Race activities are limited to 30 teams. Packet pick up and pre race check in occur the day before the race, with a mandatory pre race briefing for runners new to the race series. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
