Miami 50/50 is an open road ultramarathon held in Miami, Florida. The event is a 50 miles race for two-person teams; both members run the entire course together at all times. There are three competition divisions: Male Team, Female Team, and Co-Ed Team. The field is limited to 30 teams. The course route winds through several Miami neighborhoods, including Wynwood, Miami Beach, Key Biscayne, Calle Ocho, Coconut Grove, and Brickell.
This event takes place on pedestrian paths and sidewalks and runners will encounter vehicular traffic throughout, so participants must follow all pedestrian laws. The race is self-supported with no aid stations and no crew support; only drop bags at checkpoints are allowed. Checkpoints are manned approximately every 10 to 15 miles and provide the next segment of directions. The first portion of the course map is provided the morning of the race; subsequent course segments are given to teams at checkpoints. Navigation using supplied directional cards is required. The race has a course time limit of 16 hours. All pre-race activities and the start and finish are based at Hero Martial Arts, 17049 S. Dixie Hwy, Palmetto Bay, FL.
