Event Overview
Metro Aberdeen Running Club organizes the Promenade 3K Winter Series. It consists of six races held on the first Friday of each month from October to March at The Beach Esplanade in Aberdeen.
Course and Series Details
The course is a measured 3 km distance. It is run under SAL (Scottish Athletics Limited) rules and the course measurement is certified by a Jones Counter. For the overall series, the accumulated times from three races count towards the final standings.
Registration and Participation
Pre-registration is required for each individual race; no entries are accepted on the day. The entry fee is £2.00 per race plus a 50p administration fee. Race numbers are collected on the day at the registration point, located 150 meters north of the Beach Leisure Centre on the promenade. Participants must check in at registration before each race. The same race number must be retained for the entire series.
Prizes and Categories
Only series prizes are awarded, based on the accumulated times from three races, across various categories. A separate series exists for junior runners under the age of 16.
Additional Information
There is a process for transferring an entry to another runner if the original entrant cannot participate. This requires contacting the race director via email with full details of the substitute. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
