Mesa County Search & Rescue 5K
The Mesa County Search & Rescue 5K is an annual community road race held on September 26, 2026, in conjunction with the Fruita Fall Festival. The event supports Mesa County Search & Rescue, a volunteer nonprofit organization, and is part of the festival activities.
The race starts and finishes at the Fruita Community Center, 324 Coulson St, Fruita, CO 81521. Event parking is provided at Shelledy Elementary School, 353 N Mesa St, Fruita, CO 81521.
The event distance is 5 km and is open to all age groups. Age categories are 13 and under; 14-19; 20-34; 35-49; 50-64; and 65+. Prizes are awarded to first and second place finishers in each age category.
Registration opens June 16, 2026, and closes September 7, 2026. Early registration through September 6 offers lower fees: 13 and under $20, 14 and over $25. Registration after September 6 has higher fees: 13 and under $30, 14 and over $35. T-shirt availability cannot be guaranteed for registrations after September 6.
Race bibs and t-shirts may be picked up at the Mesa County Search & Rescue tent in downtown Fruita during the festival on Friday from 5:00-8:00PM, or at the Fruita Community Center on Saturday from 7:00-8:00AM. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
