Mesa County Search & Rescue 5K
Mesa County Search & Rescue hosts an annual 5K in Fruita on September 26, 2026, held in conjunction with the Fruita Fall Festival. The race starts and finishes at the Fruita Community Center, 324 Coulson St, Fruita, CO 81521. Participants are asked to park at Shelledy Elementary School, 353 N Mesa St, Fruita, CO 81521.
The event supports Mesa County Search & Rescue, an all volunteer nonprofit organization. Prizes are awarded to first and second place finishers in each age category. Age categories are 13 and under; 14 to 19; 20 to 34; 35 to 49; 50 to 64; and 65 and over. The race is open to all age groups.
Registration details use specific windows and fees. Registration opens June 16, 2026 and closes September 7, 2026. Early registration rates by September 6 are $20 for participants 13 and under and $25 for those 14 and over. Registration after September 6 is $30 for participants 13 and under and $35 for those 14 and over. T shirt availability cannot be guaranteed for registrations after September 6.
Race bibs and t shirts may be picked up the day before at the Mesa County Search & Rescue tent in downtown Fruita during the festival and on race day at the Fruita Community Center before the race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
