Mesa County Search & Rescue 5K
The Mesa County Search & Rescue 5K is an annual 5K road race held as part of the Fruita Fall Festival and hosted by the Mesa County Search and Rescue team. The race starts and ends at the Fruita Community Center, 324 Coulson St, Fruita, CO 81521. Parking is directed to Shelledy Elementary School, 353 N Mesa St, Fruita, CO 81521.
Early registration is listed at $25 and registration after September 6 is listed at $35. Bibs and t-shirts are available for pickup the day before at the Mesa County Search & Rescue tent in downtown Fruita during the Fruita Fall Festival, and on race day at the Fruita Community Center before the race.
The event uses age categories for awards: 12 & Under; 13-19; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; 70+. Prizes are given to first and second place finishers in each category. The event is open to all age groups and is presented as a fundraiser and outreach effort for the volunteer Mesa County Search and Rescue organization, which serves the local community.
