Mesa County Search & Rescue 5K
Mesa County Search & Rescue 5K is an annual 5K road race held in Fruita on September 26, 2026 as part of the Fruita Fall Festival. The event starts and finishes at the Fruita Community Center, 324 Coulson St, Fruita, CO 81521. Participants are asked to park at Shelledy Elementary School, 353 N Mesa St, Fruita, CO 81521.
Registration opens June 16, 2026 and online registration closes September 7, 2026. Early registration prices through September 6 are $20 for age 13 and under and $25 for age 14 and over. Registration after September 6 is $30 for age 13 and under and $35 for age 14 and over. T shirt availability cannot be guaranteed for registrations after September 6.
The race is open to all age groups. Age categories are 13 and under; 14 to 19; 20 to 34; 35 to 49; 50 to 64; and 65 and over. Prizes are awarded to first and second place finishers in each age category. Bib and t shirt pickup is available the day before at the event booth in downtown Fruita and on race day at the Fruita Community Center.
The race is organized by Mesa County Search & Rescue, a volunteer nonprofit organization. Proceeds support the organization's annual fundraiser and outreach efforts in partnership with the Fruita Fall Festival. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
