Fredonia 5K - QUAD 3
The Fredonia 5K is the third event in the Mercer County Twilight QUAD, a long-running summer series now in its 43rd year. The event takes place in downtown Fredonia, PA, and is one of four weekly community 5K races held during the series.
The 5K course is an out and back route of 5,000 meters (3.1 miles) with rolling terrain and a gradual half mile downhill finish. All 5K events are chip timed with timing mats at miles 1, 2, and 3 to provide split times. A digital clock and timing services are provided by THE RUNNER'S HIGH. The event is open to runners and walkers; there is no separate awards division for walkers.
Awards and age groups are provided for the 5K. Overall awards include top five male and top five female finishers and top masters male and female. Age-group awards go to the top three in standard brackets from 11 and under up to 70 and older, with no duplication of awards.
A half mile children’s run is held for younger participants. Each child receives a finisher’s ribbon and age-group awards for boys and girls in 5 and under, 6-7, 8-9, and 10-11. Specialty QUAD shirts are available for purchase on site on a first come first serve basis.
Runners who complete all four QUAD events receive a commemorative award; typically more than 150 participants complete the full series each year. Over 50,000 finishers have been recorded across the first 140 QUAD events. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
