Mental Health Movement 2K | 5K | 10K Run-Walk
Organized by the Northeast Michigan Community Mental Health Authority, this fourth annual event promotes mental health awareness and aims to reduce stigma across Alcona, Alpena, Montmorency, and Presque Isle counties.
Distances offered:
- 2K run-walk, wheelchair and stroller accessible
- 5K run-walk, wheelchair and stroller accessible
- 10K run, crosses a street with curbs twice and is geared toward runners
All routes begin and end at 400 Johnson St., Alpena, MI, and follow river-side roads. All participants receive a race bib with a chip timer for accurate results; all events are chip timed.
Registration for participants aged 11 and up costs $20 and includes a long-sleeved race shirt if registration is completed by April 28. Those who register after April 28 will not receive a shirt. Registration for children aged 11 and under is free; a shirt may be purchased for $20 if ordered by April 28. Registration closes on May 14 and there is no same-day registration.
Early bib and shirt pickup is available on May 14 and May 15; day-of pickup is also provided and participants are asked to arrive at least 30 minutes before their event. Pets are not allowed. The event proceeds rain or shine; delays are possible in the event of lightning. Refunds are issued only if the organizer cancels the event. Monetary sponsorships cannot be accepted due to the organizer's funding structure. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
