2026 Mental Health in Motion
Mental Health in Motion is a community-wide movement held in Penetanguishene, Ontario. Located at 500 Church Street, the event focuses on raising awareness, reducing stigma, and generating funds for the Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care. These resources support mental health programs for a diverse range of groups, including seniors, adults, youth, and children.
The event offers several ways to participate:
- 10 km run
- 5 km run
- Bike ride
- Walk and family loop
The courses are designed for inclusivity, with the walk and family loop encouraging the use of strollers and mobility devices. The morning begins with a guided mindful warm-up featuring stretching and breathing exercises, followed by an opening ceremony that includes a land acknowledgment.
A festival runs alongside the physical activities, featuring a Children’s Play Zone, community partner booths, and a Wellness Zone. On-site amenities include food trucks, a photo booth, and a dunk tank. Participants are greeted at the finish line by a cheer tunnel and music. The event concludes with a recognition ceremony for top fundraisers and teams, highlighting the community impact of the gathered donations.
