Event Overview
The Butter Tart Trot is an annual community running event held in Midland, Ontario. It was founded by the Parker family over a decade ago to promote wellness and outdoor activity. The event has grown from 40 participants in a 5k race to an accredited event attracting over 750 runners.
Race Distances
The event offers several race options:
- A 5km race.
- A 10km race.
- A half marathon for runners (sold out) and walkers.
- A 1km Kids Fun Run.
The race starts and finishes at the historic Sainte Marie Among the Hurons site. Registration for the main races includes a race bib, support stations, a finisher's medal, and a swag bag. The Kids Fun Run is a no-cost event.
Community Impact
Proceeds from the race benefit local organizations, including Big Brothers Big Sisters of North Simcoe, BGC North Simcoe, and the CLH Foundation.
