Event

The Mendon Trail Run is organized by the Rochester Orienteering Club and takes place on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at Mendon Ponds Park (Stewart Lodge / Douglas Road, Pittsford, NY). The event raises funds to support the club. Distances offered:

  • 10K
  • 20K
  • 30K
  • 50K

There is a limit of 350 runners. Registration is available online via RunSignup and may be possible up until the start of the race. Bib pickup is available at MedVed (3400 Monroe Ave) and at the race. Awards are given to overall male and female winners and in 10-year age groups; 50K finishers receive a race souvenir. Refunds are available in full minus a 20% administration fee through October 3; no refunds after that date.

Course and support

The course uses a 10 km loop on trails and grassy fields. The loop is marked, with turns marked at trail junctions and traffic cones at the road crossing. The route has many rolling hills and is nearly all runnable, with one short rocky downhill section that can be tricky. Estimated climb is about 1000 feet per 10K loop, while the total elevation difference between the course low and high points is about 150 feet. Each loop includes two park road crossings; runners are responsible for their own safety when crossing roads.

Aid and crew support: there is a mid-loop aid station about 3.5 miles into the loop and a water/Gatorade stop at the start/finish area. The mid-loop aid station will hand food to runners under park health rules; available items may include small cups of candy, pretzels, chips, pickle slices, fig bars, and liquids such as water, Gatorade, flat cola, ginger ale, and pickle juice. Pacers are permitted only in the 50K and only for the last two loops; a waiver and adherence to pacer rules are required. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
