Men of Purple and Gold 5K Run/Walk
The Men of Purple and Gold 5K Run/Walk is the fifth annual 5K walk and run held in Flowood, Mississippi on August 8, 2026. The event is titled Stepping Out Cancer and Alzheimer's and directs donations to the American Cancer Society and the Alzheimer's Association.
The event includes multiple participation options:
- 5K Run/Walk
- Virtual 5K
- Kids Fun Run (Ages 10 & Under)
Registration is divided into categories with published fees: the general public and first responder 5K entries are listed at $33.20, virtual and kids entries are listed at $22.55, and a T-shirt purchase option is listed at $22.64. T-shirts are noted as free to walkers. Sponsors who contribute $100 or more before July 24 can have a name or company printed on the event T-shirt.
On-site registration opens July 1 and online pre-registration closes July 31. Event-day activities include presentation of checks and a results and awards ceremony.
