Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk - Jackson MS
The Tunnel to Towers 5K in Jackson, Mississippi is a 5 kilometer walk or run held to honor first responders, remember the events of September 11, 2001, and raise funds for Tunnel to Towers programs. This is the fifth year the event is held in Jackson and participants for the anniversary will receive a commemorative finisher coin.
The event takes place at 1250 Eastover Drive in Jackson. Packet pickup is available on race day beginning at 7:00 AM, with early pickup on Friday, September 11 from 4:30 to 6:30 PM at the front office of The District at Eastover. Online registration opens April 15. Same day registration is available on race morning; a five dollar late registration fee applies for most registrants except first responders.
Registration categories and standard fees listed for the event are: adult registration $25.00, first responders and military $20.00, youth ages 13 to 17 $10.00, and children 12 and under $5.00. Registrants who register before August 24 are guaranteed a shirt; later registrants receive shirts while supplies last.
The event is timed. Participants must display their bib on the front of their outermost garment. A water station is available on the route and at the start and finish. Strollers and wheelchairs are permitted, and firefighter turnout gear and military backpacks are allowed. Emergency medical service and radio communication will be available on site. No refunds are issued, but registrations may be transferred to another person. Donations are accepted for six weeks after the event on the race registration website.
